The Shoulders: They are made up of 2 major muscle groups, the deltoid and the trapezius, the deltoid is a three headed triangle shaped muscle which starts at the clavicle and scapula at the back of the shoulder and goes down to the upper arm the main function of the deltoid is to to rotate and lift the arm.
The trapezius runs from the spine to the shoulder its main function is to lift up the shoulder up down and sideways it also helps the head to turn. The Chest: Main function, to pull the arms and shoulders across the front of the body, chest muscles are called pectorals most chest exercises will involve the use of the shoulder and bicep muscles. The Back: Muscles of the back also include the shoulder muscles, they also are made up of the lats (Latissimus dorsi) those magnificent muscles that give the effect of a King Cobra flaring its hood. The Arms: Three major groups of muscles are in the arms, the bicep, the tricep and the forearm the tricep is actually the largest of the three having three heads which work against the bicep. The Thighs: Made up of quads and a bicep group, the bicep group works similar to the arm bicep muscle, its action is to lift the heel up to the buttock, the quadriceps is made up of numerous muscle found along the front and side of the thigh. The Calves: Probably the hardest muscle group to train, some bodybuilders feel its the main part that lets them down, given its size and need for strength it is a small muscle, you will often see females with good calve muscle this they get from wearing high heel shoes.
